Update – Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Because of your help, the children, teens and adults of the Barrio La Mitch will now have free classes in English, computers, STEM, art and so much more!!
Help Create a Community Learning Center for the Children, Teens, and Adults in the ‘La Mitch’ section of El Porvenir (PEP2)!
Update as of September 6th – – we are more than halfway to our goal of $9300 to finalize the purchase of this building! (Thank you!) The kids at PEP2 are counting on us to make sure they have a real classroom before the rainy season! Every donation makes a difference – – please consider supporting this effort!
The current PEP2 location is just a shack with a dirt floor and the volunteers teach classes mainly outdoors. When the rains come, this isn’t going to work. If you know our students, you KNOW that these kids are worth the effort to help make this Community Learning Center a reality.
Please consider supporting this effort with a one-time or monthly donation! Take a look at the exciting potential this project can offer the community!
We will be able to hold classes for all ages. The students can learn computers, English, Healthy Living, art, social skills and so much more!
We’ve never had a bathroom in any of our PEP2 locations. Having a toilet and shower will be an amazing luxury!
How much will it take? Here is what will make it happen!
$9300 – Purchase the property, pay transfer taxes & legal fees by the end of September
$1500 – Replace roof (update / it may be possible to just replace a portion, so costs may decrease on this)
$ 850 – Add security bars to the doors and windows plus wood shutters
$ 400 – Paint
$ 500 – Chairs and tables (outdoor concrete table too)
$ 500 – Electrical box, lights and fans
$ 850 – Baño with shower and pila sink
$14,200 – – – – – but every donation gets us closer!
You can help by . . .
