This is the PEP-2 Learning Center, located near the pineapple fields in the Barrio Alemán section of El Porvenir. The PEP-2 property sits lower than the surrounding homes, leaving rainwater with nowhere to go. Even on a sunny day, children must navigate a puddle just to reach the door — but during the 3-month rainy season, with mud up to their knees, getting inside becomes nearly impossible. This is an emergency —proper drainage and fill are needed to make this classroom reliably accessible.

For $3,000, we can fix this permanently. That covers installing drains, raising the front walkway, and adding fill to the property — giving students a reliable, safe path to their classroom every single day, every season.

Beyond disrupting classes, standing water creates a serious mosquito risk for our students and the surrounding neighbors.
